Your labs came back "normal." You still feel exhausted, foggy, and dismissed. That's exactly where we start.
It is not in your head. And one "normal" lab is not the whole story.
For the women and men who have seen doctor after doctor and still don't have an answer — this is a clinic built to keep looking.

Root-cause care for thyroid, hormones, and metabolism.
Northwest Advanced Thyroid and Hormone Health is an integrative, functional, and naturopathic medicine clinic. We focus on thyroid disorders, hormone replacement therapy for women and men, fertility, PCOS, and cardiometabolic health — practicing entirely by telehealth, licensed in Washington and California.
We provide direct specialty care. Because we work with you directly rather than billing insurance, we're free to give you the time your situation calls for, order the testing that's genuinely useful, and choose treatments for clinical reasons alone. Many of our patients still use their insurance for labs and medications — and we help you access affordable, high-quality testing and well-made compounded medications where they fit your plan.

When something feels wrong, we keep looking for the why.
If a symptom doesn't add up, we dig — through your history, your labs, the connections others overlooked — until we find the reason behind it. And if the answer lives outside what we do, we tell you, and we point you to who can help. You leave with a clearer path forward.
Your plan is shaped to fit how you actually live — your preferences, your limits, and what you're willing to take on. We're here to help you navigate this, not to add to your stress.
Discover
We map your full history and run the testing needed to understand what's actually driving your symptoms.
Restore
We build a plan around your body and your life, and adjust it with you as things move in the right direction.
Optimize
As you steady, we focus on fine-tuning, longevity, and protecting your progress with ongoing support.
Care here is a partnership, not a one-off visit. Most patients begin with a structured six- or twelve-month program and can continue month to month from there. However long it runs, it's built around you.

A Doctor Who Has Been the Patient
Twenty years of clinical practice teaches you a lot. So does being the patient. I have navigated PCOS, hypothyroidism, and secondary infertility firsthand — and when I was offered symptom management instead of answers, I went looking for a better approach. Functional medicine and research-based therapy did not just help me manage my conditions — they changed how I felt and gave me back what I thought I had lost.
That experience is the foundation of everything I do.
As a Naturopathic Doctor licensed in Washington and California, I specialize in hormone balance, metabolic health, and longevity medicine — not through a standardized protocol, but through the kind of rigorous, individualized investigation that most patients have never received. I look at why your body is doing what it is doing, not just what to give you to quiet it down.
My practice covers hormone optimization, advanced thyroid care, metabolic repair, gut health, mitochondrial function, fertility, and sexual health for both men and women. These are not separate service lines. In most patients, they are the same underlying problem showing up in different places.
If you have been told your labs are normal but you feel anything but — this is where we start.

A Journey That Changed the Way I Practice Medicine
My path in medicine has taken me from busy inpatient hospital wards in the Bay Area to primary care practice in Monterey, California. Yet despite years of caring for patients, I was quietly navigating my own health challenges — PCOS, thyroid dysfunction, and burnout.
After back-to-back miscarriages, I reached a point where I knew something had to change. I could not fully care for others while ignoring my own health and well-being. So I stepped away from clinical practice for a period of reflection, recovery, family, and a deeper reassessment of the values that had drawn me to medicine in the first place.
Born in Afghanistan and raised in Germany, I was exposed early to a perspective that valued natural approaches to health whenever possible. Although I trained in conventional medicine, I spent years searching for ways to bring a more functional, root-cause approach into my practice. The traditional model too often left little room for the depth of investigation, education, and partnership I believed patients deserved.
During my sabbatical, I had the privilege of becoming a patient of Liqaa Naser. Working with her reshaped not only how I felt, but my understanding of hormone balance, metabolic health, and what truly individualized care can look like. The experience reinforced something I had long suspected: meaningful change rarely comes from a one-size-fits-all approach.
Today, I am honored to work alongside Liqaa and support patients facing many of the same challenges I once faced myself. My goal is to help patients feel heard, understood, and supported, while we address the underlying factors that may be contributing to their symptoms.
I am grateful to finally practice medicine in a way that aligns with my values — rooted in nature, guided by science, and centered on the patient.
How we practice
Care built for the long road — not the quick transaction.
Many of the people we care for arrive after years of searching for answers. They've tried medications that didn't help, been told their labs were "normal," or begun to wonder whether the problem was somehow in their head. If that sounds familiar, you're not alone.
We specialize in these kinds of cases — the ones that often fall through the cracks. When symptoms don't match the lab report, when several conditions overlap, or when the standard approach hasn't given you answers, that's the work we're built for. Thyroid, hormones, and metabolism are deeply connected, and we treat them that way.
These are chronic conditions, not quick fixes. Caring for them well is closer to long-term maintenance than a single visit or two. Progress looks different for everyone — some people improve quickly; others, especially those with more complex or long-standing conditions, need a longer, steadier course. Either way, we pace your care to your body, not a calendar, and stay with you the whole way. That is why we built our practice to care for complex thyroid, hormone, autoimmune, and multi-system conditions.
Our Approach
How We Work With You
You have been tired, gaining weight, losing focus, and not feeling like yourself — and you know something is off. We get it, and we take it seriously. Here is how we work with you.
We actually listen
We start by hearing your full story — not just your labs, but your symptoms, your history, what you have tried, and what has not worked. No rushing. No dismissing.
We dig deeper
Fatigue, brain fog, weight gain, sleep problems, mood changes — these do not happen in isolation. We look at the full picture: thyroid, hormones, metabolism, inflammation, and how they all connect.
We explain what we find
You will understand your results, what they mean, and why we are recommending what we recommend. No guessing. No confusion.
We start with what matters most
We do not try to fix everything at once. We figure out what is driving your symptoms the most and address that first.
We adjust based on how you respond
Your body is not a textbook. If something is not working, we change course. If something is working, we build on it.
We use real evidence
No trends. No fads. Everything we recommend is grounded in medical evidence — whether it is medication, lifestyle changes, or both.
We think long term
The goal is not just to feel better next week. It is to help you feel like yourself again and stay that way.
Wherever you are in your story — newly diagnosed or years into a complex case — the path meets you where you are and moves at the pace your body needs.
Complex cases deserve more than a rushed appointment. That is why every relationship begins with a 90-minute evaluation and a comprehensive review of your history, symptoms, and prior testing before any recommendations are made.
From your first visit on, you work directly with our provider — focused exclusively on thyroid, hormone, and metabolic care, and guiding every step of your care.
A Clear Path Forward
Long-term care should feel structured, manageable, and clear. Your care follows a steady rhythm — an in-depth start, a scheduled follow-up each quarter, and review of your labs and symptoms between visits — so you always know where you are, what comes next, and how we are measuring progress.
On the next page, you will see exactly how the program is laid out, step by step.
